How HiveLuminary (a vHive Solutions publication) handles information about readers and advertisers.

Last updated Oct 11, 2026

We keep this short on purpose. HiveLuminary is a magazine, not a social network: you can read every page without an account, and we collect only what we need to show you the issue, measure how spreads perform, and answer the people who contact us.

What we collect

From every reader (anonymous)

  • Reading analytics — which cards were seen (impressions), opened (views), tapped (clicks and outbound links) and what was searched. Each event stores the page path, the referring site's domain, a device type (phone/tablet/desktop), a daily session identifier and a one-way hash of your IP address salted per day. We do not store your IP address itself, your name or any account identifier with these events.
  • Site-level visit counts through our own portfolio analytics script (vhivesolutions.com), which records page views and referrers in aggregate.
  • Local storage on your device — your light/dark theme choice, which cards you have already seen in this browser session, whether you dismissed the install banner, and a session identifier so that one visit is counted once. These never leave your browser except as part of the anonymous events above.

When you contact us or a business

  • Advertising inquiries (name, business, mobile and/or email, package of interest, message).
  • Meeting bookings made on a Premium Page (name, mobile, email, company, topic, preferred time).
  • Reviews (reviewer name, rating, review text and, optionally, an email or mobile used only to verify the review).
  • Hiring interest — the "Join our team" button hands you over to JobPostHub, where any details you submit are handled under JobPostHub's privacy notice.

From advertisers

Contact and billing details, the content you give us for your spread (logo, photos, copy, links), invoices, and proof-of-payment images or PDFs you upload to your private payment page.

How we use it

  • To lay out and serve the magazine and keep it working (session, theme, spam and abuse limits).
  • To produce aggregate performance reports for advertisers — counts per day, per card, per button. Reports never contain individual readers.
  • To respond to inquiries, confirm bookings by SMS and email, and moderate reviews.
  • To invoice advertisers, verify payments and send renewal reminders by SMS and email (30, 14, 7 and 1 days before expiry).
  • To keep our own records of what was published, when, and by whom (activity log).

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Who we share it with

  • The business you contact. A booking request or business inquiry is forwarded to that business so they can respond.
  • Messaging gateways. SMS and email are sent through vHive Solutions' own SMSTrack and MailTrack services; delivery logs are kept there for troubleshooting.
  • JobPostHub and ManilaOpenHouse. Both are vHive Solutions sites. Links to them carry a utm_source=hiveluminary or ref=hiveluminary tag so they know you came from the magazine; counts of job-interest leads flow back to the advertiser's report.
  • Embedded maps or videos on Premium Pages (Google Maps, YouTube) load only when you interact with them and are governed by those providers' policies.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

DataRetention
Raw analytics events180 days, then deleted; daily aggregates are kept for reporting.
Inquiries, bookings, reviewsWhile the lead or review is active and for up to 2 years after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Advertiser records, invoices, proofs of paymentAs long as required for accounting and tax purposes.
Local storage on your deviceUntil you clear your browser data.

Your rights and choices

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to manilaopenhouse@gmail.com and we will respond within 15 business days. Reviews you submitted can be withdrawn on request. To stop renewal reminders, reply to any reminder or email us.

Readers can browse with analytics-blocking browser settings; the magazine still works. "Do Not Track" signals are honoured by our impression tracker where the browser exposes them.
